2018 Jeep Cherokee at Palmer Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram

There is an endless amount of opportunity to be reimagined in the SUV mid-size class, and the 2018 Jeep Cherokee does just that. It is no small task to keep legendary features and rework them to include newer designs and ideas, but for 2018, Jeep manages to combine all of the charms of the older Jeep models, and infuse them with a newer style. The first of these upgrades was to add a new base trim level, named Latitude. This trim has the standard premium features that you have grown accustomed to enjoying, including a rear backup camera, and roof rails, to name a few. Existing trims are getting a boost as well, with the Latitude Plus gaining a steering wheel made from leather that can control audio, keyless entry, ambient lighting, and SiriusXM radio. Another existing trim, Trailhawk, has added ParkSense Cross Path Detection, Blind-spot Monitoring, and Rear Backup Warning to the mix for an even safer driving experience. Lastly, Limited received upgrades as well in the form of a power liftgate.

The second engine is the 3.2-liter V6, which produces 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes standard with the Overland 4x4, but can be added to any of the other trim models. Both engines come with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and can choose between 4WD, or FWD. 4WD has three different systems, Active Drive I, Active Drive II, and the Selec-Terrain system in the Trailhawk. The towing capability of the 4-cylinder engine towing is up to 2,000 pounds, while the V6 engine can tow up to 4,5000 pounds.
