You can't beat the power of the RAM 1500. There are three engine options of a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine with 240 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 with 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard system is the rear-wheel-drive system, but there are two options for the four-wheel-drive system. Both 4WD options have a speed transfer case with low-range gearing, but one is a traditional part-time system with manual mode selection and the other offers an Auto 4WD mode that automatically switches between rear- and four-wheel drive as conditions dictate. Instead of the traditional lever for shifting there is now a knob on the instrument panel. The gas V6 can pull 7,610 lbs and the diesel can pull 9,210 lbs. The V8 can pull 10,640 lbs. The max payload for each engine is 1,890 lbs for the gas V6, 1,600 lbs for the diesel V6, and 1,800 lbs for the V8.
